Paris Manga 10!

Thanks to the ever fantastic Méluzine team, you’ll be able to find our fanzines (including our new one ‘Notes’) at the Paris Manga 10 convention in Versailles, Paris on the 18th and 19th of September!

We’ll only be able to show our faces on Sunday afternoon (next to Fabrissou’s stand) where we’ll be doing signings, so if you’ll miss us at Harajuku the week before, this will be your perfect chance to say hello and have your comics artistically defaced! Nonetheless please don’t use us as an excuse not to turn up on Saturday and say hello to the Méluzine team.

Comitia 93

Onigiri is not attending one but two conventions this summer in Tokyo, where you will be able to find our fanzines but don’t worry we’re gonna tell you everything about our stand at Comitia!

The Comitia convention is much smaller than Comiket, (it’s only for a day, and it’s in one hall instead of two) and will take place on Sunday the 29th of August, 2010 from 11:00 to 15:30. Comitia will also be held at the Tokyo Big Sight and our stand will be in the Western Hall 2, alley “ni”, site 17b!

Below is our French themed advert that’ll appear in events program.

If you’re in Tokyo at the end of August, drop on by as we’re more than happy to say bonjour to you in this remote and distant land ; -)!

Memory lane: Col-Erase

The first Col-Erase was a series of sketches that were drawn in one night... (Our other sequels were then created in this chaotic manner in 2002 and 2004...)

The idea was to create a series of rough and random sketches with loads of comments, so that we would have enough for a sketch book and (which turned out to be loads of fun)...

When I think about it we had a great time making this fanzine, so much so we’ll probably do this again! What’s more you can even find out what inspired us at the time by following our comments, in volume 3 Galou was listening to the pop-tastic “noumanoumayé" while I was addicted to brother dear brother (Oniisama)!
The covers for the first Col-Erase was printed on florescent A3 paper, in a selection of eye watering colours and folded up neatly like a wallet!

After our first volume all other following Col-Erase books had a double cover, our fanzine was reversible as the first half was printed in one direction, and the second in another.

Just to let you know, we still have a few copies of Col-Erase 1 and 3 left and we’ll be selling them at Harajuku!

New fanzine: Notes

Here is the latest fanzine from Onigiri! After a long hiatus of nearly 3 years, a full colour art book packed full of illustrations is now available from me (Dara) with accompanying text by Oliver Castle!

I’ve had a lot of images that were slowly accumulating on my hard-drive over the years, I then decided to gather up my favourite ones, some of which needed retouching (so much so that some of the original pictures are now unrecognisable...) as well as producing several new ones to create an album chock full of original eye candy!

The fanzine will be available to NatsuKomi in August, then in France from September, in time for the Harajuku festival in Paris Bercy!

More information coming soon!
